Veterans in Software Development, Social Marketing to Lead Strategic Growth Initiatives
SAN MATEO, Calif. – January 13, 2009 – Yield Software, a leading provider of Web marketing products, today announced the appointment of two executives to key posts as it prepares for the full launch of the company’s search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), and landing page optimization suite.
Matthew Baird, a veteran in software development, joins the company as Vice President of Engineering while Derek Gordon, an expert in social marketing, steps into the role of Vice President of Marketing.

Matthew Baird is an engineering leader with more than a decade of experience in launching, building and operating successful software companies. Before joining Yield Software, he was VP of Technology at Chordiant Software developing service-oriented architecture and predictive analytics products. Baird was also the founder and CTO of Motiva (acquired by Siebel Systems), and has held senior engineering and management positions at Oracle, PeopleSoft and Vantive.
Derek Gordon has led marketing efforts for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Yield Software, he was VP of Marketing & Products, and interim CEO at Engage (acquired by Spark Networks); VP of Marketing at Technorati; held marketing leadership roles at Thomson Reuters; and formerly consulted with leading brands including Cisco, Rackspace and Daylife.
