Director, IT
Location: San Mateo, CA
This person will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a high-availability, hosted web application based on Linux and J2EE. This includes:
- Hosting provider vendor evaluation and selection
- Capacity and resource planning
- Load-balancing and redundancy configuration
- Hardware and operating system setup and monitoring
- Software upgrade and backup setup and monitoring
- Performance, reliability and scalability monitoring and tuning
We are looking for candidates who possess a significant subset of the following:
- Proficiency in Linux, Apache, J2EE and MySQL
- Experience in deploying and administrating large-scale, high-volume, high performance web software systems
- Experience maintaining operational systems including Bugzilla, MediaWiki, Subversion and WordPress
- Experience working with large data sets, and distributed systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability and desire to work very closely with other team members
